Marketing Strategies for the Small Business Owner

Some of my favorite local businesses have been around since before I was born. Sadly, a few years ago, a favorite clothing retailer in my hometown went out of business. After a large famous discount retailer opened a store in this town, the small clothing business couldn’t successfully compete with it. So, this local business was forced to shut its doors. Whenever I see the vacant building this store once occupied, I think about the importance of advertising. If this business had launched a smart advertising campaign after the large retail chain came into the area, it might have survived. Do you own a small business? If you’re a proud entrepreneur, you need to determine several outlets to successfully market your brand. On this blog, you will discover the best strategies to advertise a small business.

4 Ways To Improve Your Employee Training Presentations

Highly trained employees are a must no matter the industry. As a result, as an employer, you have to make training a regular part of your operation. However, it's not enough to schedule a training session. You need to create an engaging and interactive experience for the most favorable results. To create a more effective training experience for your team members, learn how you can enhance your training presentations.

1. Have a Fine-tuned Goal

Information overload is a real problem. When you give a person too much information, there is a higher probability that they will forget much of what was relayed to them. Make your training sessions more effective by fine-tuning the goal. For instance, don't have a meeting on both sales and safety; have one for sales and another for safety. Even if this step means that you have to conduct more than one session, it's worth it in the end.

2. Use Whiteboard Animation

People enjoy interactive experiences as they are highly engaging. Stop using traditional presentation software and consider creating a whiteboard animation program for your training presentation. Whiteboard animation is unique because it mimics the motions of a person drawing on a piece of paper. In addition to creating a more attractive design, whiteboard animation is also great for putting information into a story-telling format. Contact a small business animated whiteboard video maker who can assist you with creating a video presentation.

3. Provide Actionable Information

Give your employees information that they can use. Actionable information is more than just knowledge; it's direction. For example, it's not enough to tell employees to improve sales. Actionable training would provide the team members with specific steps they could take to go about accomplishing the goal, as well as examples of what the interaction between the employee and customer should look like in order to make a sell.

4. Open the Floor

Your management team should be at the helm of the training session; however, the process should not just be about them. Your employees should also play a role. For the most effective training session, you have to open the floor to your employees. Make time in the schedule for a question and answer session in case any person needs more detailed information. You should also create an open environment in which employees feel comfortable enough to input more information about the topic being discussed in the session.

Your efforts to improve your employee's training experience can benefit your company immensely in both the short- and long-term.
